Justice

This is a card that advises you put aside emotion and the need to be right. An overflow in either direction is just the same: a sign of a weak system. In the Fool’s journey, Justice is the important centerpoint. They balance the scales between the spiritual and material world, between theory and objectivity. To Justice, there’s no right and wrong but rather cause and effect. The Fool wants to make up for past mistakes so that Fortune smiles upon them next time around. Justice shows up as an wise owl to advise that the Fool devote equal time to all aspects of self. By not ignoring the “bad” the Fool learns to be rational and make the best possible decisions.

Justice Reversed

If the card Justice appears reversed for you, it’s a sign of imbalance. It indicates, more often than not, that you’re relying too much on cold objectivity to guide your decisions. In the real world, being fair doesn’t always mean treating both sides as equal, particularly when one side is being ridiculous. On the other side of imbalance, Justice reversed can come up when there’s an overload of sentimentality in your rationale. In the case of interpersonal relationships, take note that a firm “no” or “maybe later” from you doesn’t actually cause anybody physical pain. You’re not hurting them, so even if they’re acting like you are, stand your ground. Remember that throughout history, the greatest leaders have shown heart and empathy including to themselves.
